Dr Nigel G Harris
Dr Nigel G Harris is managing director of The Railway Consultancy, a specialist railway planning consultancy. His reputation was originally based on technical advances in network modelling and fares policy research. However, he also has expertise in operational simulation, demand forecasting, scheme appraisal and railway business planning, which gives him one of the best understandings in the country of railway business performance. He co-authored the key texts Planning Passenger Railways, Planning Freight Railways and The Privatisation of British Rail, and is a visiting lecturer at the Universities of Newcastle and Birmingham, and has spoken to a wide variety of groups including railway staff, and international conferences in Europe and North America.
